Home is suburban Chicago Illinois, USA with my husband and pup.  We heed the pull to soft sandy beaches and clear turquoise water when we can. Favorite place so far is Grand Cayman, with trips to Riviera Maya Mexico coming in second.  We experienced ever so brief moments in the Western Caribbean on a cruise, and that whetted the appetite for more island visits.   Neither hubby nor I are water people — we are both happy to be near the shore to cool off… no snorkeling or scuba diving for us (so far). But, plant us in comfy chairs on a beach and happiness abounds!  We enjoy sight seeing and historical places… but we’re tourists, so you’ll find us in tacky t-shirt and souvenir shops too. 

A little bit of me is mentally at the beach all the time… friends and family know I’m usually island dreaming; tropical things make me happy. Plain and simple.  I’m a total fanatic for palm trees, there is just something about them that I love.  I’m decidedly a rum girl happily exploring the nuances of all the different varieties. Oh, and I’m a bit of a foodie. *Love* to grill and enjoy tropical flavors all summer on our Tiki Deck.
